Before you start wondering what on earth has dropped into your inbox, no, this is not a Viagra advert. We’re talking video.
What is the perfect length for your business’ video marketing content?
The easiest answer to this question is actually very simple. The shorter the better. If you can say what you need to say in order to entice an action from your viewer in 10 seconds then why take 20? Statistics show that the longer the video, the least likely somebody is to watch it in its entirety. With more than 80% of people willing to watch a 30 second video, but a drop to 60% willing to watch a 3 minute video, the aim should always be to keep it short.
So, what is the right length for your videos?
Well, from our own experience and our research we have worked out the perfect length for each of the video types you are most likely to produce.
45-90 seconds is long enough to make your crowd be interested in what your product does and get a sense of feeling how it works. don’t try to show all the features, just highlight the cool ones and make it look simple.
15- 60 seconds will do for a more traditional video advertisement. If you are using YouTube to advertise then the shorter the better as most people will skip your ad if it drags on too long.
60 – 120 seconds is the range you want to be hitting for testimonial videos. Unlike adverts, viewers will give them a little more time as they should already have an interest in your product/service and viewing a testimonial will aid their decision to act.
The shorter the better. But stick to our handy guide and you shouldn’t go wrong. The less you can say about your business and gauge interest, the better your chance of success.
